New Balance has always been my go-to brand in the sports industry for its reliability. Their Burn X3 lacrosse cleats are no exception. Released in 2022, these unisex cleats are designed for beginner to intermediate players who prioritize performance and speed.
The comfort of these cleats was on par with any high-end option, despite their more affordable price point. I noticed an improvement in my strides without experiencing any discomfort or tightness. They were easy to break in, allowing me to run laps without any issues.
What I liked the most was the knit upper with Kinetic Stitch technology. It gave me the freedom to stretch freely while maintaining the integral support for my feet so that I do not twist and strain my feet, especially my ankles. The hybrid tongue construction and secure lace-up closure ensured stability throughout my runs.
The Burn X speed plate, a proprietary feature, improved my stability on the turf. I could feel a noticeable response from the cleats, especially when making aggressive moves like throwing checks or winning faceoffs. The TPU molded outsole and front tip delivered good traction.

After the remarkable success of the Freeze LX 4.0, New Balance surprised fans with a limited Fire and Ice edition of the Freeze LX 4.0 in 2023. Being an attacker, this special edition, designed for midfielders and attackers who face intense checks and maneuvers on the field caught my attention.
I was immediately impressed by its lightweight design coupled with excellent underfoot traction. At just around 304 grams, I feared that these cleats might skid on the turf and compromise stability and quality. However, they performed the opposite. These were stable, comfortable, and skid-resistant.
I liked the synthetic mesh upper that provided ample ventilation to keep my feet dry even during the hot months of June and July.
If you are a lacrosse player who plays in warmer climates, this is surely going to help you keep your feet ventilated and cool.
The lace-up closure system and hybrid tongue contributed to the cleats’ stability, while the extra padding around the ankles and cushioning in the heel area helped prevent injuries and facilitated multi-directional movements because of the superior traction.
For quick and precise movements, I liked how the forefoot film added traction, and protection, and allowed for smooth pivoting. This helped me with high-speed shots

Often, cleats can lead to discomfort and burning sensations on the soles of the feet, but I did not experience this issue with the Nike Huarache 9 Elite. I liked the feel and response of the cleats while going for the aggressive strides.

As someone who typically uses mid-cut cleats, I decided to give these a try after hearing all the hype and positive reviews. Upon putting them on, I immediately noticed their enhanced flexibility compared to other mid-cut cleats I have tried before.
Given their mid-cut design, I was initially concerned about potential compromises in flexibility and traction. However, they offered impressive multidirectional flexibility and traction that Nike incorporated into these cleats.
Upon digging deeper, I got to know that all of the Huarache 9 Elite series utilize Nike’s Phantom Soccer series traction system, which undoubtedly contributed to their exceptional traction.
Despite their compact appearance resembling soccer shoes, Nike did not sacrifice comfort. I liked the comfortable underfoot cushioning provided by the Nike React foam, along with the Internal Flywire system in the mid-foot area.

If I compare it the the Low LAX version, I think except for the low build, these are pretty identical.
